Forthcoming events

Bollington Arts Centre has introduced online booking for some events! After the successful launch of their new web site the Arts Centre has taken the plunge into online ticketing! They have teamed up with a local company called Web Ticket Manager to ensure a simple, quick and above all safe system for on-line bookings. Beginning September 2012 it is hoped that all the Arts Centre tickets will be available online.

The Arts Centre is retaining the option to phone for tickets for customers who don’t have access to the internet, but for those with internet access the new system promises to streamline ticket sales and do away with bespoke printed tickets thus saving money and the environment!

To see the ticket system in action go to the Bollington Arts Centre web siteExternal link and click 'Online Booking'!

It all started in 1964 ...

WELCOME to the Happy Valley 'Arts' pages. In this set I hope to cover all art forms that are active and, indeed, thriving in Bollington. There are so many arts based groups in Bollington - it is commonly noted that the town is exceptional in the breadth and quality of artistic achievement; quite unlike any other place of similar size (see box, right).

Most, but not all, of the performing arts are based at the Bollington Arts Centre (BAC) in Wellington Road. The BAC has its own web siteExternal link which provides information on their forthcoming programme. This includes external amateur and professional performers as well as Bollington groups.

The lists below attempt to identify every arts based group and individual artist in Bollington. If you know of others please let me know. Each of the groups has one or more pages in this set as well as a short entry in the Organisations pages (which are mainly for contact purposes). Individual artists and performers also have a page in this set if I have sufficient information. Those performing professionally may also have an entry in the Business pages.

Is Your Group on these pages?

The Arts pages are available to every arts group and artistic individual based in Bollington but you will only have a mention if you send details of your group and events to me, the webmaster! You can have a page or more to promote yourselves - just send me the text of what you want to say, and perhaps a couple of pictures (I can take some if necessary). I will promote your events on this page as well as on your dedicated page, on the Home page, and on TwitterExternal link which is read daily by hundreds of people. For an example of what can be done have a look at the BLOG pages.

So to make use of this free publicity and promote yourselves to an ever wider audience contact me today!
