James Nicholas and Amanda Stott proposed in 2010 to create a movie for
and about Bollington to be premiered at the coming Bollington Festival
and 2014. A competition was announced for ideas and scripts and many
entries were submitted by the closing date at the end of 2010.
The six Bollington Movie judges, who included Donald Judge, Sara Bullock,
Amanda Stott, James Nicholas, have now chosen the winning
script.
The successful author is Bollingtonian Debra Tracey (below).
Debra Tracey was delighted at being selected: "We are going to keep
the plot under wraps for now. However, I can tell you that the script
involves a large number of actors, lots of lavish costumes as well as a
number of dance sequences and music. It is very exciting and I am really
looking forward to the coming months."
Debra Tracey moved to Bollington over a year ago and runs The
Creative Space Studio
, based in Adelphi Mill. Debra designed the Mosaic currently
on display at Macclesfield Football Club.
Sarah Bullock, one of the judges and a casting director for the Bollington
Movie said: "We are now looking for lots of people to star in the
movie. We hope that anyone living in the local area and wanting to
get involved in the movie will go to our website to sign up."
The Bollington Movie is now looking for actors, choreographers, dancers,
musicians as well other roles behind camera.
The filming of the movie is expected to start in September of this year.
The film will be for a family audience and it is hoped it will be premiered
at the Bollington Festival in 2014. To get involved go to www.BollingtonMovie.co.uk
