The meeting in May is taken up with the annual Mayor Making ceremony and reception. The business meeting is held on the following Tuesday. Members of the public are welcome to attend any of these meetings.

Town Assembly - held annually on the Tuesday following the third Monday in March in the Civic Hall - You have to be there! In 2009 it will be on Tuesday 17th March, 7.30pm.

Mayor Making - The annual Mayor Making ceremony takes place at the May council meeting, Tuesday 5th May in 2009. This is followed by a reception in the Civic Hall for invited guests.

Council members and structure - There were 12 nominations for the election held on 1st May 2008. As this matched the number of seats all were deemed elected without the need for a poll. The town is divided into three Wards, East, West and Central Bollington, with four councillors each.
