Bollington's entry in the Cheshire Year of Gardens 08 Flower Boat competition came first! The boat, British Waterway's traditional work boat Lindsay, was dressed overall at Clarence Mill for the immensely successful Bollington's Floral Weekend, June 7th & 8th. She was seen off by a crowd of around 1,000 residents and visitors and cruised down the Macclesfield and Trent & Mersey canals to the Middlewich Folk & Boat Festival held June 13th to 15th 2008.

This is a great achievement and the credit goes to Chris Harrop, the Bollington resident who lights up Chapel Street during the summer with her wonderful floral creations. Chris designed the overall look of the boat and provided some of the floral pieces. Others came from various local groups with a penchant for floral displays. The decking for the boat was generously provided by Joe Henshaw.
