The
Neighbourhood Policing Team Officers will be holding your next Community
Action Meeting on:
---------------------------------------
Review of meetings
The Police and Bollington Town Council are reviewing the value
of continuing the CAM meetings. This is because some recent meetings
have been very poorly supported by the community. There have been
occasions when three police officers have met a couple of Bollington
councillors, the webmaster (who is also a Home Watch coordinator)
and a few members of the public. This level of attendance does
not justify the expensive (always in the evening) police time.
A decision will be announced here shortly.
The fall off in public interest is actually a recognition that
the activities of our Beat Officer, PC Andrew Oldfield, and PCSO,
Lindsey Whitehead, have been highly successful in reducing the
crime in Bollington. We thank them both for all the hard work they
do to get to those who would commit crime in the town and steer
them away from such behaviour.
-----------------------------------------------
This
is your opportunity to vote for the police priorities for
the coming four months! If you would like to attend just turn up
- you will be very welcome!
There will be a Police Surgery for 30 minutes after the meeting to discuss individual concerns.
For the May - October period the CAM meeting chose, without
a vote, that the police and PCSOs should
target Speeding and Drink-Driving, Drugs, and Anti-Social
Behaviour.
Your Community Action Team want to know what you think they should
tackle first or is there something more urgent than the items listed
above? The next meeting will be your chance to tell your local
Police what's most important to you and to vote on the top priority
for the next twelve weeks. It's also your chance to meet your local
PC and Community Support Officers as well as talk to your local
councillor and Resident's Association.
PC Andy Oldfield is the Bollington Beat Officer
and PCSO Lindsey
Whitehead is our Police Community Support Officer. PCSO
Gareth Barber is
also in Bollington assisting Lindsey. If
you see them about town please stop and talk to them - they like to meet as many
Bollingtonians as they can!
Other Community Wardens and Environment Officers also visit the
town on a regular basis and can be approached about particular
problems. Call the Community Wardens on 01270−529599.

Smart Water - protect your property; give your property a DNA mark so that if it should be stolen the police will know whose it is!
