Outbreak of grid thefts

On 12th January 2011 a total of seven reports were made to police regarding the theft of highway grids (drain covers) in various locations across the Macclesfield area. These locations were in residential areas alongside properties with a frontage behind a hedge or wall.

The grids were stolen from :

Danebank Drive, Disley,
Heyesbank Road Disley,
Wayside Drive Poynton,
Grosvenor Drive Poynton,
Willow Close Poynton,
Brampton Avenue Macclesfield,
Peterborough Close Macclesfield.

If you see anyone acting suspiciously in your area please contact the police immediately on 101. All the better if you can get a vehicle registration number, but you should not make any approach to these people.
