Supermarket Distraction Thefts

A group of three are traveling the country, entering supermarkets with two of the group distracting elderly shoppers whilst the third steals valuables such as purses and wallets.

The offenders have been both male and female.

Many of these thefts have been in the London area but the eastern Cheshire area has just had three incidents reported in Crewe, Congleton and Macclesfield.

The offenders have been described as dark skinned possibly Romanian.

The vehicle they are using is a green P registration Ford Mondeo.

Please be alert and report anything suspicious to the police on 101 or, if you see them in action, 999.
