Conservation Taster with KRIV
Age Concern East Cheshire and Kerridge Ridge and Ingersley Vale Countryside and Heritage Project (KRIV
) have joined together to provide a conservation taster session on Friday 26th September 2008 at 9.30am. The session is designed to answer the demand of many people in the area to ‘do something’ to conserve the natural beauty of Cheshire but aren’t sure how to get involved.
Age Concern East Cheshire’s involvement is through their Healthy Lifestyles programme which aims to bring together groups of people over 50 with a common interest, a desire to make a difference and stay fitter for longer.
Madelyn Bridge, CEO of Age Concern East Cheshire commented:
“Older people in this area have a keen sense of how fortunate we are to live in such a beautiful part of the country and many want to do something to make sure it stays that way. KRIV are a well organised group and we want to do all we can to support their efforts.”
Volunteers need to be reasonably fit and enjoy working in the fresh air. Comfortable weatherproof clothing is essential but appropriate safety gear will be provided on the day.
Those wishing to participate in this taster session can contact Chris Comer or Ruth Wilkes at Age Concern East Cheshire on 01625−660533 to find out more.
