PLANNING FOR THE 2014 FESTIVAL IS WELL UNDERWAY!

100 Club | Friend of the Festival

logoPlanning is already underway for the next Festival in 2014, and the team is looking for ideas and volunteers to help make the 50th Anniversary Festival a fabulous success, in fact the very best yet!

If you would like to be on the Festival mailing list please send an email (don't change the subject or add any message!)

Whether you'd like to be on the Committee, put on a show, help back stage, be involved in fund raising, or if you just have some great ideas, please get in touch as we'd be extremely pleased to hear from you!

FIRST, FUNDRAISING!

The organising committee is in place and their first task is to raise at least £100,000 - without that there can be no festival. In order to get this funding under way, a major programme of fundraising events is being organised to run from September 2011 right up to the May 2014 Festival.

Many of these activities and events are going to be very popular so you need to keep your eyes open for the announcements and buy your tickets quickly. The first event - Opera di Briscola - has sold out almost overnight!

Other fundraising options now up and running include Friends of the FestivalExternal link and the 100 Club. Please look at how you can get Festival benefits from being a Friend of the Festival and win prizes from the 100 Club!

Follow the events on the Festival web site

100 CLUB

Join the Festival 100 Club for an opportunity to win cash prizes while supporting the 2014 Festival fundraising!

  • A monthly draw with generous cash prizes – 50% of the income from the 100 Club each month will be given back in 3 cash prizes initially (the remaining 50% will go towards the money needed to stage Festival 2014). As the 100 Club income increases each month, so the amount given in prize money and number of prizes will increase.
  • Each chance in the 100 Club draw costs £1 per month. You can buy up to 10 chances each month for a minimum of 12 months (i.e. 1 chance each month for a year would be £12; 2 chances each month would be £24 etc. see table below). You can pay for as many months as you like in one go by cheque or just leave your Standing Order to run.
  • You can pay as little as £1 per month (12 months minimum) but bigger donations will increase your chances of winning. Payment can be by cheque (payable to 'Bollington Festival 100 Club') or standing order (forms available from local venues around Bollington or download from the web siteExternal link). For example, see table below.
  • You must be aged 16 or over to participate.

BE A FRIEND OF THE FESTIVAL!

"The Bollington Festival enriches the lives of people who live in Bollington, regardless of age, background, interests or abilities."

The support of our Friends is vital in keeping this wonderful legacy going. Without it, future Festivals are uncertain and their programmes restricted in vision.

Since its inception in 1964, the Bollington Festival has enriched the lives of so many people who live in and around Bollington and 50 years later, it will be doing so again with your help. Each festival has been a catalyst for new events and partnerships bringing new creative activities to the community. It has developed over the years with a positive impact on village life and engendered a true community spirit.

Over the last 40+ years, Bollington has given birth to a Community Theatre company, Choral Society, Light Opera Group, Children’s Music Theatre, Chamber Concert series, prize-winning Brass Band, Sci(ence)Bar evenings and regular Jazz and Comedy night sessions within the thriving Bollington Arts CentreExternal link.

So please support Bollington Festival 2014. We need to ensure that funding is in place before 2014 in order to implement all the wonderful ideas the vibrant community of Bollington have suggested for its next Festival. Become a Festival Friend and not only support the Festival in 2014 but see how you can benefit too. See the Festival Friends membership formExternal link.
