Introduction:

The pub is set in this picturesque village surrounded by local history. The D&P, as it is known to its friends, was built c.1800 and has been kept in its original condition. In winter the comfort is maintained with a good fire in the grate and plenty of pub games most nights.

In the summer outside picnic tables provide a place in the sun to admire the stunning displays of flowers in boxes and baskets around the walls. The D&P is now a regular winner of the Bollington in Bloom Pubs category! Village league cricket is played on the recreation ground at the rear of the pub.

As well as supporting the local football teams and being a member of the local pool and bar games leagues, the pub has a reputation for its live music. Friday evenings herald the Folk Night, a venue not to be missed.

Located on the main street, the Dog & Partridge is very prominently located about midway between the railway viaduct (Middlewood Way) and the canal aqueduct, almost opposite the Civic Hall. In the summer just look for a building covered in flowers!
