A new manager has been appointed in September 2006.

Introduction:

This old country pub has changed a great deal over the 30 years I have known it and each refurbishment brings with it a new style fitted into the old building. It is a very pleasant pub and restaurant.

The lounge is easy to relax in with sofas and soft chairs, there is a bar and the restaurant area is furnished with stout spotlessly clean wooden tables and chairs on a stone tiled floor - bistro style.

Brews:

Teltley's, Timothy Taylor's, Black Sheep and a guest beer which was Speckled Hen on my visit.

Food:

Bar food; Restaurant - High quality food, preparation and presentation. A little more expensive than the average country pub but good value for money. They are clearly aiming well above the standard of the usual pub restaurant and certainly achieving it. Download the menuExternal link.

My wife & I have been many times for lunch and dinner and it is invariably very good. The standard of service is first rate with young staff who actually know what they are doing.

Very highly recommended. We regularly return though we have not been since the change of manager. Book for peak periods.

road map

From the main road through Bollington, turn down Adlington Road (next to the Dog & Partridge), after about 3/4 mile take 1st left. The Windmill is half a mile on the left. From the A523 Macclesfield / Poynton road, turn up Holehouse Lane which is between the traffic lights at Bonis Hall Lane and the railway over-bridge; after about 1 mile the Windmill is on the right.
