Nicola Riley and Tim Boddington were interviewed by the Norwegian business paper DN Magasinet. The main part of the article is about Ashton Hayes. A small section notes Bollington's activity and objectives in carbon reduction. Your can read the original article but you should realise that it is in Norwegian. However, it contains many full colour pictures. PDF 1MB
Here is a translation of the relevant paragraphs, the bit about Bollington ...
They want to be the first carbon-neutral industrial town
40 villages and towns have expressed their support for Ashton Hayes’ initiative and want to become carbon-neutral. "We have been directly inspired by Ashton Hayes, as many others have too", says Nicola Riley, leader of the group Bollington Carbon Revolution. Two months ago a local action group, consisting of researchers, engineers and environmentalists, put forward a 47 page report on how the former industrial town of Bollington will reduce its emissions and improve the environment. Bollington wants to be the first carbon-neutral town, just like Ashton Hayes wants to be the first carbon-neutral village. In 2008 Bollington hopes to have reduced its emissions by 5%, and after three years, by 10%. This is just one of many objectives. Nicola Riley herself trained as an environmentalist and works for a firm which develops environmentally friendly houses. The action group will soon be presenting its plans at a public meeting. Local politicians support the plan. Nicola Riley wants to get things going as quickly as possible. "There may be different opinions as to what the cause of climate change is. But we do know we must reduce our energy consumption, improve our waste processing and recycle more", says Tim Boddington from Bollington Civic Society, who initiated the local climate action. Bollington represents what’s now going on in Great Britain. Ashton Hayes inspires many to follow.

Following their example. We have learnt a lot from Ashton Hayes, say Nicola Riley and Tim Boddington, seen here next to one of the small weirs in Bollington, east of Ashton Hayes. The two of them are working actively to help their town of 7000 inhabitants become carbon-neutral.
