Paddling for fun and thrills!

home > organisations > sport & leisure > canoeing

Macclesfield And District Canoe Club, MADCC for short, is a family friendly club first set up 37 years ago. Its aim is to make the experience of paddling enjoyable, challenging and fun.

The club is based on the aqueduct at Adelphi mill, Bollington, and has 150 members being coached into varying branches of canoeing. From children and beginners to the adventurous, MADCC provides qualified coaches dedicated to teaching the skills needed to move into different aspects of the sport - like flat water touring, white water touring, sea touring, surfing, canoe camping or marathon racing.

The club runs the popular swimming pool sessions during the colder months to teach rolling, safety and general skills, river trips through the year, coaching evenings in the summer, and organises flat water and descent races.

Their 2012 Come Paddling! Campaign was a great opportunity to have a go, and many people turned out to try canoeing for the first time. For many it won't be the last!

Please visit the club's web siteExternal link for information on the regular club sessions, membership, and how to book for the Come Paddling! Campaign and to ask any questions.

Happy paddling!
