Silver Street

Why Silver Street? I'm not sure. Chapel Street at the top end was previously called Gold Street so perhaps that is a clue.

Doorstep milk deliveries (left) used to be the norm for every household but by the beginning of the 21stC they were becoming a rareity with very few milkmen serving few properties. Most households now get their milk with the supermarket shopping.

This street is in the Bollington Conservation Area.
